The animated short, Bloodland Embrace, was created for the Journeys Festival International 2021 in Manchester, UK, an event that celebrates and explores cultures from around the world through various art forms. Commissioned by ArtReach LCB Depot, in collaboration with animator Majid Adim, musical composer James Hamilton, and executive producers The Invisible Flock, this project emerged from the necessity to visually articulate one of the most pressing themes of our time: the plight of refugees. The animations highlight key concepts, such as the emotional toll of experiencing violence, the heartbreaking necessity of leaving one’s home, the instinct to defend oneself against injustices arising from cultural discrimination, and the realization of the potential to construct a new life despite it all.
